Preschool Class

Children that will be 3 years old by September 1st of the school year are eligible for our Preschool program.

Our teachers are committed to building positive peer relationships and a strong sense of community within the classroom. This positive environment fosters curiosity and active learning. We feature cooperative learning and encourage creative expression through art and music. The program also highlights science experiments and nature study as well as field trips.

Class size is limited to 16 students which allows us to maintain a 1:8 teacher / student ratio. Each class also benefits from the presence of a parent helper.

Teachers

Mrs. Sarah Sifuentes

All three of my children have gone through the Tree of Life program, so I have been part of the community for over ten years, both as a parent and a teacher. I received my BS in Early Childhood education from UW-Milwaukee in 2005 and gained further certification from Cardinal Stritch University in 2010. I taught both Kindergarten and 4th grade before staying home with my three boys. I was very excited to get back to teaching in the classroom! One of my favorite aspects of preschool is the unbridled enthusiasm for discovery and getting a bit messy in the process.

Mrs. Laura Fischer

Mrs. Fischer received a B.A. from Virginia Tech and completed her teacher licensure in birth through 6th grade at the University of Richmond. Before starting a family, she taught 5th grade and junior kindergarten. Her two children are Tree of Life alums and she spent five years on the TOL parent board. She lives in Whitefish Bay with her family and loves the beach, exercising and spending time with family and friends.

“I am excited to join Tree of Life in a teacher role. I believe that play is a child’s most important work and am looking forward to creating an environment where children can grow and thrive while exploring the world around them.”
